Guyana's First World Trade Centre

World Trade Centre Georgetown is the first such Centre in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), established in 2022 under license from Demerara Distillers Limited — one of Guyana's most respected public companies.

Located at 44 High Street, Kingston, WTC Georgetown sits at the heart of the capital's institutional zone — connecting Guyana's businesses to a global network of over 300 World Trade Centres across nearly 100 countries.

Komal Samaroo

Executive Chairman

Komal Samaroo is the Executive Chairman of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL), the producer of El Dorado Rum, and has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth over the past five decades. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he also serves as Chairman of several leading organizations, including National Rums of Jamaica, Demerara Bank Limited, Diamond Fire and General Insurance Inc., and IPED. Mr. Samaroo is widely recognized for his contributions to business development and financial management, having received Guyana’s Cacique’s Crown of Honour and Golden Arrow of Achievement. He was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Guyana for his outstanding leadership and impact on the banking, trade, shipping, and distilling industries.

Brian Wesley Kirton

Executive Director

Brian Wesley Kirton is a distinguished international relations executive, diplomat, and strategic leader with more than 40 years of experience advancing trade, economic development, public affairs, and regional cooperation across the Caribbean and the Americas. He currently serves as Executive Director of World Trade Centre Georgetown and holds leadership roles with the Guyanese American Chamber of Commerce, the Institute of Caribbean Studies, and Outreach Aid to the Americas. His career includes senior positions with the Organization of American States (OAS), the Caribbean News Agency (CANA), Guyana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Guyana Permanent Mission to the United Nations. Renowned for his expertise in diplomacy, trade promotion, stakeholder engagement, and international development, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening regional partnerships and advancing economic growth initiatives.

Vasudeo Singh

WTCG Director/Deputy CEO, DDL

Vasudeo currently holds the roles of Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Finance Director of the Demerara Distillers Limited Group. His key responsibilities include driving the Group's strategic business development agenda and providing financial guidance and oversight for operations. He holds an Executive MBA from the University of the West Indies and is a Fellow of the Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He has almost 25 years of experience in operations and finance at various levels.

Vasudeo is also a board member of the Institute of Private Enterprise Development (IPED), Diamond Fire and General Insurance Inc., European Chamber of Commerce Guyana Inc., the St. Joseph High School Board of Governors, a council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Guyana (ICAG), and Second Vice President of the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA).

Nadena Bipcharran

Administrative Manager

Nadena Bipcharran is a seasoned administrative and operations professional with over 20 years of experience driving organizational effectiveness, corporate governance, and strategic business support across both the public and private sectors. As Administrative Manager at World Trade Centre Georgetown, she oversees administrative operations, stakeholder engagement, compliance, facilities management, and cross-functional coordination to support the Centre’s strategic objectives. Holding a Master of Business Administration, she brings extensive expertise in budget oversight, procurement, human resources coordination, policy implementation, and executive support. Throughout her career, she has successfully led teams, managed complex projects, and fostered strong relationships with government agencies, corporate partners, and international stakeholders.
